Smoothies are a great way to absorb lots of delicious vitamins and nutrients in one hit – and although they shouldn’t be a substitute for proper meals on a regular basis, they can be a great way to get a balanced burst if you’re short on time.

When you’re looking to balance your digestive health, smoothies can also be a fantastic source of gut-loving ingredients which can in turn have a positive effect on your overall wellbeing. A few fantastic benefits of smoothies include:

*Source of pre-biotics and pro-biotics: Pre-biotics promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms in the intestines, whilst pro-biotics are living microorganisms which can be taken to boost levels of healthy bacteria in the gut. Each of these smoothie recipes contains one or both for serious gut support.

*A great way to pack in lots of gut-loving ingredients: There are many different foods out there which can support digestive health – smoothies lend themselves perfectly to combining a number of these ingredients in one go for a concentrated source of gut-loving goodness.

*Ease digestion: If you’ve been struggling with bloating, gas, constipation or cramps, a soothing smoothie can help to ease these symptoms and help you rebalance your gut.

*Stabilize blood sugar: Some smoothie recipes are laden with high-sugar fruit which can spike your blood sugar and impact upon your metabolism and digestive health. These smoothie recipes all contain a good balance of proteins and fats to make them a satisfying and healthy meal replacement or snack.

Smoothies can also be combined with superfood or supplement powers to supercharge their powerful properties even further! Add a spoonful of Belly Fix to any of these recipes for additional digestive support.
